I mean first off, why? I have loved being The BB Namer but it can feel like operating in a content whirlpool x merry go around with no stops x echo chamber with no structure. Despite my natural type B state of chaos that definitely reigns supreme, I actually love a little bit of structure.

I’ve continued going through The Lost Names Club, which is the US SSA 2024 beyond the top 1000 data. It was like sifting through Save Mart on a hang over, which is to say not for the faint of heart.

Maximalist Middle Names
With any trend comes a reaction — I’m an Art History graduate and that is one of the five things I remember. Quiet Luxury has had society in a chokehold since that really fun period of time, Covid.
There have been some really interesting articles on what is to follow which I’ll link below but naturally I applied this to names because it’s literally what I do. And let’s be honest, why you’re here. From Quiet Luxury to the Bold Maximalist Playground. It makes sense for the pendulum to swing that far. But I think both will yin-yanging until they find a rhythm of balance.

Whilst Tyler and I used family names for our children, I lowkey regret it for our son Wynn. He was our last baby and no shit hindsight thinking is a hobby of mine, so I can’t get over the idea of Othello, Benvolio and Paddington.

Where do you lean?
Play in the middle, honour family there or are you more of a cherry on top/conjunction name leaner. If you’re thinking WTF do I mean by that? Cherry on top, conjunction names to me are James/Blake/May/Rose/Grace — they may be family names but they’re names that work like this little guy &.

Nara Smith x MAC
Nara & Lucky Blue Smith are expecting their fourth child together and no surprise to anyone, her names we like and won’t be using video is just as whack as their kids names. As a refresher for the class, Lucky has a daughter Gravity Blue from a previous marriage and then together, Nara and Lucky have Rumble Honey (G), Slim Easy (B) and Whimsy Lou (G).
I have done three videos oddly but this week in response to her names we like video I thought you know what makes sense here? MAC lipsticks. I mean this did also lead me down a nostalgic rabbit hole because we are wore SOME COLOURS back in the day. But genuinely it makes sense.
Ginger Rose, Del Rio, Plum Dandy, Syrup, Habanero, Chilli, Dubonnet, Retro, Doe, Velvet Teddy, Noon Noir, Cyber, Odyssey, Sumac, Gumball, Caviar, Space Bubble, Twinkle Twink, Gumdrop.
It’s madness but so is her list which literally includes Butter, so maybe Toasty could work.
Also to all the eagle eye sleuths, I do agree that Lemon could be a go as Whimsy Lou was playing with a lemon of all things in her video. But we also all know that she is watching and seeing the comments, so she could just be playing us all.
TBH from all my videos for them, I still like the idea of Lychee Saturn, Dux and Ditto a la the Pokédex. It works lol.

Watching — Motorheads lol and COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS until TSITP. Finished Overcompensating recently and was OBSESSED, so am facing reading/watching hangovers, so don’t judge me lol.
